Public Relations

Public relations is the measured and ethical use of language and symbols to inspire collaboration between an organization and its people. Public relations professionals help businesses, governments and their agencies, universities, hospitals, schools and other organizations establish and maintain positive relationships with their publics. With courses that fall within the scope of the Public Relations Department, students learn how to use certain marketing tools to promote new products and messages, or how to address potentially business-damaging news with crisis management techniques. In addition, within the scope of the courses, students understand the role of technology in critical thinking, data analysis and communication. Public Relations Department teaches students to research, plan, conduct and evaluate communication between an organization and its peoples; It aims to gain managerial competence in monitoring the organization's environment and communication policies and programs. The department is designed to prepare students to help private and public organizations improve the quality of communication within themselves, between employees, society and government.
