Corporate Communication
Corporate Communication was first established in 1997 at Erasmus University Rotterdam Business School. It is an original discipline that emerged under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Cees van Riel. Corporate communication is an integrated process that refers to the way businesses and organizations communicate with various internal and external audiences and the processes of managing this communication. Institutions must operate with a corporate communication discipline in all processes where they interact with their key stakeholders, customers, employees, media, society, public decision makers and other third-party audiences (such as NGOs and professional organizations).
In Corporate Communication courses, students take theoretical and applied courses on the management of marketing, communication and public relations techniques, strategic planning and implementation of strategic communication plans to solve corporate dilemmas. They gain competence in areas such as identifying the stakeholders of the institutions, defining the areas where they interact with the stakeholders and managing the forms of communication, leader and manager communication in the institutions, organizational communication and corporate marketing communication.
