General Journalism

This department focuses on the theoretical framework of the journalism profession, its basic principles, and practices, which differ from each other within the news production process. In addition to following scientific researches in this field, other topics covered by this department are: the nature of the news, the relationship of news with reality, news forms in different communication environments, the social functions of the press, the media and power relations, citizen journalism,  the understanding of journalism transformation as a result of changing technology, analysis of news texts, ; and legal aspects of news and news ethics.
