Our faculty member Assoc. Prof. Duygu Çeliker gave a training session on cyberbullying to high school students

In the training given by Assoc. Prof. Duygu Çeliker, a faculty member of our department, at the Mustafa Gürkan Anatolian High School Conference Hall, topics such as ‘digital media,’ ‘the effects of digital media,’ and ‘cyberbullying’ were discussed. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çeliker, who touched upon what young people can do when they encounter bullying on digital media platforms, emphasised that digital media platforms should not be seen as merely a place to share content and socialise.

Stating that digital media brings with it many social and individual problems, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çeliker said: ‘Cyberbullying is one of these issues. Cyberbullying is a harmful behaviour that involves intentional and repeated actions through electronic texts, such as death threats, insults, reading others’ emails without permission, using personal passwords, taking and sharing embarrassing photos, and other similar acts. If you encounter cyberbullying, do not be afraid. You can share what you are experiencing with your family, teachers, or a trusted adult. You can save evidence of bullying and report it to cybercrime units."
